DIY Lang is committed to remaining a free (and ad-free) database. If you make a purchase through one of our affiliate links, we may receive a small commission at no additional cost to you – which is a great way to support us! We do not accept money for reviews.

LingQ is primarily a language learning app, but they also offer live tutoring. As such, we are categorizing it as both.

Rating

Great, flexible resource that works really well for many languages. Worth the cost for most. Paid tutoring services are also available.

*LingQ Premium Plus – has the same features as LingQ Premium but includes 3000 LingQ Points, which can be used for live tutoring, writing correction, or premium lessons (offered by professional content providers).

Live Tutoring Services

Tutoring is available for an additional charge. Prices vary per teacher and service and are listed in real currency, but you purchase bookings with LingQ Points. As of this post, 1000 LingQ Points costs $10.

For example purposes, Japanese tutors currently cost $20 – $35 per hour, depending on the teacher, so you would need 2000 – 3500 points, accordingly.

From their website: LingQ points expire if not used within a one year period. As long as you are active, earning points, buying points or spending points, your points won’t expire.

You can only see the available tutors once you are logged in to the site, and it will only display tutors for the language you are currently studying. To see tutors in other languages, you need to change the language you are learning.

Languages Offered

LingQ has the following languages available as of this posting. (Links are clickable, but not all languages have resource pages yet.)
